Noritz 67
Noritz error code 67: air gas mixer fault
Short answer
Error code 67 is an AGM abnormality. The AGM, or air gas mixer, adjusts the air and gas mixture for proper combustion. Noritz says it often means the AGM is stuck; cutting power for 20 seconds lets it recalibrate. If that fails, the wiring is checked, and buildup in the AGM housing is a common cause of failure.
Noritz's premix models, including the NRCP and CB combi series, use an air gas mixer that turns to fine-tune the fuel mixture as hot water demand changes. Code 67 means the mixer is not moving or reporting as expected.
The meaning below comes from Noritz's own technical knowledge base. Noritz technical support: 866-766-7489.
What to try first
- Cut electrical power to the unit.
- Wait 20 seconds and restore power.
- Noritz says the AGM should calibrate itself shortly afterward by rotating through its full range.
If it comes back
- A technician checks that the wiring to the AGM is complete, undamaged and fully seated.
- Noritz notes a common cause of AGM failure is buildup in the AGM housing, to the point that the motor cannot move the part.
- A failed AGM is replaced.
If you smell gas, do not reset the unit or touch any switches. Leave the building and call your gas utility from outside.
Which models
Noritz lists the NRCP982, NRCP1112, CB180 and CB199 models for this code.
Before you call
Have the model and serial number from the rating label ready, along with the exact code and when it appears: at startup, during use, or only at high demand. Mention any recent work on the gas, water or electrical supply and when the heater was last serviced. This helps the technician bring the right parts and often saves a second visit.

Common questions
Can I fix Noritz code 67 myself?
The power reset is safe to try. Anything beyond that involves the gas and air system and is technician work.
