How we choose the companies we list
We start from the state licensing board's public records, not from paid placements. A company is listed only if its plumbing license is current in those records on the day we check. We then confirm the phone number, address, hours and services on the company's own website.
We do not show star ratings. Ratings without verified reviews are easy to fake, and we would rather give you facts you can check yourself.
What to do before you hire anyone
- Confirm the license number on the state board's own lookup. Licenses can lapse between our checks.
- Ask for proof of insurance before work starts.
- Get a written estimate that describes the work and how you will be billed.
- Ask whether the job needs a permit. Water heater replacements usually do.

No. Listings are free and the order is not based on payment. If we ever add paid placements, they will be clearly marked as featured.
How often is the information checked?
Each listing shows the date we last checked it. We recheck license status against state records and update listings when a company asks us to.
My company is listed with wrong details. How do I fix it?
Use the link on your listing or our contact page. Tell us what to change and we will check it against your website and the state license records.
