Navien E060
Navien E060: dual venturi fault
Short answer
E060 means abnormal operation of the dual venturi, the part that mixes gas and air and switches between low and high firing ranges. Navien's service steps are to check its connection, test it in the unit's test mode and check the gas orifice for obstructions. A faulty venturi is replaced.
Navien's condensing heaters use a dual venturi to mix gas and air in the right proportions across a wide firing range. A small limit switch reports its position to the control board. E060 means that switch is reporting something unexpected.
Navien's service manual lists three sub-codes for E060, each describing the dual venturi limit switch being in the wrong state.
The meaning below comes from Navien's manuals for its NPE condensing tankless water heaters. Many codes are shared with Navien combi boilers, but check the manual for your model if something does not match.
For this code, Navien's user manual directs owners to contact Navien technical support (1-800-519-8794) or a licensed installer.
If you smell gas, do not reset the unit or touch any switches. Leave the building and call your gas utility from outside.
What a technician checks
- The electrical connection to the dual venturi
- The venturi's operation, using the heater's built-in test mode
- The gas orifice, for any obstruction
If the venturi does not move or report its position correctly, it is replaced.
What homeowners can do
Reset the unit once from the front panel. If E060 returns, leave it off. The dual venturi is part of the gas and air system, so testing and replacing it is work for a licensed installer.

Common questions
Can I keep using my Navien with E060?
The unit will not operate normally while E060 is active. Have it serviced.
