Navien E615
Navien E615: input and memory fault
Short answer
Navien E615 means abnormal operation of input and memory on the control board. It points to the heater's electronics rather than water, gas or venting. Navien's manual says to contact technical support. A technician checks the control board, its connections and settings, and replaces the board if it has failed.
In this guide
E615 is an electronics code. The control board has detected a problem with its inputs or its stored memory.
The meaning and recommended action below come from Navien's User's Information Manual for NPE-2 condensing water heaters (NPE-180A2, NPE-210A2, NPE-240A2 and the S2 models). Navien technical support: 1-800-519-8794.
What you can try
- Press the Back button to reset.
- If it returns, turn the heater off with the power button, wait a minute and turn it back on.
- Note whether it started after a storm, power outage or recent electrical work.
What a technician checks
- Wiring connections to the control board
- Grounding of the power supply; Navien lists proper grounding among its checks for several electronic codes
- The control board itself
Before you call
Have the model number and serial number from the rating plate on the side of the unit ready, along with the date it was installed and the exact code. Navien asks for this information when you contact technical support, and your installer should be your first call for warranty service.
